This is your starting point! This session includes a 30-minute information interview and a 60-minute Swedish Massage.
Here we will discuss your goals based on the services provided here at Wellness Concierge, as well as an in-depth discussion on your health history, physical activity history, current nutrition and stress management practices, and more.
This information will give me a good snapshot of how all of these factors are affecting your body and how you're currently feeling. This can also determine the recommended services needed, and the tentative schedule that you can expect to feel lasting results.
Full Programs are typically 4 - 6 weeks as a consistent plan, after which, you may start booking services as you see fit.
This session includes 30 minutes of interview time, where I gather information from you, and I can answer any questions or concerns that you have regarding the Program Plan. I will also have you perform a simple Movement Assessment or Range of Motion Assessment depending on the goals we discussed.
You will then receive a 60-minute Swedish Massage for me to work with your body and gather more information. This gives me a good idea of how to use the recommended services during your Program at Wellness Concierge.
In contrast to Deep Tissue, at Wellness Concierge we use Myofascial Therapy to address pain and restriction in specific areas of the body. Results are often increased range of motion and decreased pain. By using massage techniques to stretch the fascia and release the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones, this method allows for increased blood circulation and relief from pain.
In this session, you will not be fully disrobed, however, I will need to access bare skin for this service. We will discuss what is recommended to wear in your session depending on the area you would like to focus on. You will be properly draped (covered) for modesty, regardless.
These sessions are recommended to be a series based on the results and lasting relief you experience from each session.
To make the most out of this service and its effectiveness, it is highly recommended that we have communication with your personal wellness team. This can include your doctor, physical therapist, chiropractor, or personal trainer, depending on what your goals are. This communication is optional but recommended.
Deep Tissue Massage is an effective option for those that need to address more specific areas of tension in your body due to the daily demands of repetitive motions, poor prolonged posture, or even relieving lingering symptoms from previous injuries.
In contrast to the relaxing, feel-good Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue will be highly dependent on communication with me throughout the session using a Pressure Scale System for optimal effectiveness.
Pressure Scale System: 1 through 10
1 - Feather Light
10 - Excruciating
Deep Tissue will typically be in the "tolerable discomfort" level of 5-7 on this scale. Any level of pain (more intense than tolerable discomfort) is not necessary, nor will it be effective due to the potential tissue damage that may occur in this upper range (of 8-10 on this scale).
You may experience soreness after the treatment. Drinking plenty of water prior to, and after the session, will aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released during the session.
Compared to the Swedish Massage, this session is fully disrobed, and the Deep Tissue focus will address the areas of interest within the session, however, may require several sessions to resolve any particular issue.
Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.
Swedish Massage at Wellness Concierge is primarily used for general relaxation. Additional benefits include increased circulation, decreased stress levels, relieving minor aches and pains, and improving flexibility.
This is not treated as a clinical service and would be considered more of a "feel-good" massage. This massage is fully disrobed, and you have the option to use aromatherapy and more luxury lotions or oils in your service.
Due to the nature of this service, you may schedule this Swedish Massage any time you feel necessary.
Movement Education is an individualized approach to helping you hone your skills in self-awareness for your specific needs.
We will use Foam Rolling as the primary method in this session.
You will practice using the following learning skills to help these concepts stick:
The goal is to become sufficiently equipped with safe and effective "homework" options that you will be able to- and want to do- on your own for self- care maintenance.
This session can be scheduled bi-weekly (initially, to engrain the specific areas that need to be addressed), until you can graduate to the optional, monthly, Foam Rolling Maintenance workshops with other fellow VIP members of my program.
